Hi there, I'm Mojca :-)
... the face behind mk allure and #DesignForIntegrity ...
First of all, thank you for stopping by & hope you enjoy the 'surfing journey' through pattern landscapes.
I’m a textile designer from Slovenia - EU with a strong adoration to enhance surfaces with patterns to enrich people’s daily lives with transformational quality that they possess.
In essence, I believe that patterns pervade our Universe, define our known world and are beautiful reflections of our existence. They run deeper within and can help to fulfill human needs on various levels.
Inspired by external and inner Nature - its ‘outer’ definition as well as our internal perception, passionate about the visual language of patterns & their endless lyrical reflection through the phenomenon of color & symbolic forms interwoven in common history. I'm fascinated by these intangible values for our minds, bodies and souls which can (also) bring us emotional well-being and harmony.
My design process is exploratory flow and changeable but continually committed to looking underneath the surfaces. Interested in connections of past and present, spiritual and material, purposeful in infusing different color attributes, symbols, and rhythm of infinity. Searching for the design vocabulary, that has the potential to stimulate, transform, support & enrich today for a better tomorrow. And hopefully, allure the spectator in their never-ending story.
I studied Textile and Fashion Design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering in Ljubljana where my Bachelor's graduate work (titled Absently present heritage of image) got nominated for the highest University prize.
Since then I have had the pleasure and opportunity to collaborate with other designers and exhibit my work at museums, create bespoke pattern designs for individuals (warmly invited to see some of this past work here) … and as a member of the Textile Design Lab, continue my pattern journey & keep learning from the very best industry experts ...
Today some of my prints are represented by Pattern Observer Studio, available for licensing through their private online library and exhibited at Surtex as well as Première Vision trade shows (New York).
PRESS HIGHLIGHT: British Vogue, September 2019 - Forces for Change issue, guest-edited by HRH The Duchess of Sussex. Showcase in Vogue's Gallery among other talented artists, adding my tiny piece to the multicolored mosaic and #ForcesForChange Story.
